Child and Adolescent Psychology
As a Child & Adolescent Counselling Psychologist, I offer evidenced-based psychological (EBP) interventions for children and teenagers in distress. Upon meeting, I conduct an initial assessment, and thereafter discuss an individualised therapy plan with the teenager and their parent(s) before the therapy intervention begins.
I do not prescribe medication.
With over a decade's experience working as a Highly Specialist Counselling Psychologist in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS Tier 3) and a Highly Specialist Parent-Infant Psychotherapist in NHS Perinatal Services (Tier 3), I have been offering therapy for complex and multiple mental health problems.
Using therapy interventions tailored to the individual teenager's therapy needs, I work with youngsters to achieve positive outcomes for problems including depression, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and low mood.
Approaches for teenager therapy include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety and Depression
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - Trauma/PTSD
Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT)
